ABOUT KAREN…
I am a Midwestern girl who loves Jesus and has a calling to minister to the hurting body of Christ in these last days. I grew up in a traditional Protestant church, and then as an adult I spent many years mostly away from the church. In 1999 I began attending a non-denominational charismatic congregation, and in 2004 I joined the staff of a local missions based prayer and worship center. Additionally, my husband and I are involved in a freedom prayer ministry.
I am blessed with a wonderful husband named Ben, six grown children, and lots of grandchildren. I have experienced many of life’s ups and downs, taking away experiences and memories that I sometimes draw on for my stories.
My desire is that these parables and stories would go far beyond encouragement for today. I pray that they would also be a lifeline for the hurting; that they would spark a desire for the downtrodden to rise up and sing again. I believe today we are seeing many signs that point to the beginning of the end times drama. Jesus has called His Church to participate in the harvest of souls, but we cannot be on the front lines if we are in ‘sick bay.’ So, I pray that each parable and story will point to Jesus (our only Hope in times of trouble), that they would create a new hunger within you, and that they would draw you to seek an even greater intimacy with Him.
If you would like to contact me, my email address is karen@karensparables.com
Because I am employed full time, I am not always able to respond immediately. However, I will reply as quickly as I can. May you be blessed and uplifted as you read the parables and stories.
